AMU finds place in Shanghai Rankings among 14 Indian institutions

Vice Chancellor Prof. Tariq Mansoor stated that this ranking is significant for the whole AMU community because it serves as a benchmark for international university rankings.

Only 14 Indian colleges have found a spot in the most recent Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, also known as Shanghai Rankings) ranking of universities around the world, and Aligarh Muslim University is one of them.

The Universities of Calcutta, Aligarh Muslim University, Amity University, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Manipal University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, and other institutions have been ranked between 9 and 14 among national universities and between 901 and 1000 among international universities.

Being listed among the top 1000 research institutions worldwide is a significant accomplishment, according to Prof. M. Salim Beg (Chairman, AMU Committee for Ranking of the University).
