Prof Mansoor also shared workshop-related anecdotes and urged young doctors to develop astute clinical acumen.

The intensive workshop also included cutting-edge lectures, case discussions, and interactive question and answer sessions to help participants interpret and apply the best treatment options in their individual cancer practises.

The Chief Guest, AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor, spoke at the valedictory session about how, over the years, the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach in the intricate scenario of cancer patients’ management has proven beneficial.

“Multidisciplinary care allows patients to receive coordinated support and care from a wide range of specialists, which helps improve treatment and ensures that all patients receive the care they require,” the Vice Chancellor explained.

Prof Mansoor also shared workshop-related anecdotes and urged young doctors to develop astute clinical acumen.

“Cancer management is complex, requiring the participation of a variety of healthcare professionals working alongside specialist oncology consultants to address patients’ needs and optimise outcomes.” Prof M U Rabbani, the Guest of Honour, stated, “A coordinated, multidisciplinary approach enables shared decision making and comprehensive care of cancer patients through a variety of specialties and support initiatives” (Dean, Faculty of Medicine).

Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Principal, JNMC), who also attended the programme as a Guest of Honor, emphasised the importance of raising awareness about early detection and avoiding cancer-causing lifestyles.

He also discussed the most recent advances in cancer treatment.
