Minister Rajini emphasised the significance of healthcare by stating that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has accorded this sector the highest priority. The establishment of five medical colleges in only five years is a remarkable feat, establishing a new state record.

These colleges, located in Vizianagaram, Eluru, Nandyala, Machilipatnam, and Rajamahendravaram, will add 750 MBBS seats to the extant 2,185, for a total of 2,750. Minister Rajini emphasised that only eleven medical colleges were established by previous administrations over the past century. However, under the stewardship of Chief Minister Reddy, the construction of 17 new colleges with a budget of Rs 8,500 crore has begun in just four years.

In addition, Minister Rajini stated that the remaining twelve colleges will begin operations within the next few years. This is a positive development for the students of Andhra Pradesh, as they will no longer have to move to other states to pursue medical education. In addition, the number of post-graduate seats has increased substantially, from 926 in 2019 to 1,390 at present, allowing for more opportunities for specialisation.

The establishment of new medical colleges and the addition of seats in Andhra Pradesh represent a positive step in the direction of enhancing healthcare education and accessibility in the state.

Five new medical colleges will be inaugurated in Andhra Pradesh, adding 750 MBBS seats to the state’s total. This accomplishment represents a major milestone in the history of healthcare in Andhra Pradesh, as it expands opportunities for medical education and reduces the need for students to move to other states.
