In November 2006, the institute was registered as a society. The institute was transformed into a university by the government of Odisha in January 2014. The five departments of the institution located at Gothapatna in the city offer a variety of courses.

Ghosh told TOI that he will enhance the institute’s quality by encouraging students and faculty to concentrate on education and research. He will attempt to contribute to the institute’s innovation and incubation efforts. Creating links with industries will be a top priority, he added.

He stated that they will also work to enhance the placement circumstance so that students can obtain employment immediately after graduation.

“We are in charge of a major initiative for the federal government. During the past three years, I have established connections with various industries. This connection and experience will aid me in my work with innovation and new ventures, said the professor.
Ghosh added that he has been conducting artificial intelligence (AI) research since 1987. “My decades-long experience teaching and conducting research on AI, data analytics, machine learning, and other deep tech subjects will benefit IIIT Bhubaneswar students,” he added.

In addition, he will collaborate with IIT and other technical institutions for educational and research purposes.
