Assam TET requirement: In an unprecedented action, the Assam government passed a resolution in the cabinet on Wednesday to waive the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement for the hiring of teachers in the state. The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will no longer be required for Graduate Teachers (GT) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) in secondary schools, as per the announcement.
The government implemented these modifications to streamline the recruitment of instructors in the state. In lieu of TET requirements, the Assam government will administer a TET-cum Recruitment Test for Secondary School Graduate and Postgraduate Teachers.

Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, relayed the news via his official Twitter account: “Assam Cabinet Decides: TET is no longer required for Graduate and Postgraduate Teachers of Secondary Schools.” Assam will administer the TET-cum-Recruitment Test for Secondary School GT and PGT positions. The number of successful candidates will match the number of open positions.”
