BAMS: Bihar govt Ayurvedic college UG PG seats may decrease

The Principal has been informed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine that the case will be heard online on November 11.

There may be a reduction in UG and PG seats due to a lack of teachers and facilities in Bihar government Ayurvedic colleges. Not only that, but the sword has also hung over the recognition of many subjects out of 14 PG studies. The National Commission of Indian System of Medicine questioned the letter sent to the college’s principal, Dr. Sampoornanand, on Tuesday, citing numerous shortcomings in this regard. In addition, the commission has set November 11 as the date for the hearing.

According to the commission, Patna Ayurvedic College will be allowed to enrol 125 students in 2020, with 25 EWS quotas for undergraduate courses and 100 seats in 14 PG subjects. This permission was granted on the condition that the vacant positions of teachers and faculty be filled as soon as possible. Even after two years, nothing has changed. During the investigation, seven faculty positions in four UG departments and 13 in ten PG departments were discovered to be vacant. In addition, there is no technician in the composition body, despite the two posts of Laboratory Technician. Similarly, many technician and lab assistant positions are open in the Dravyaguna Department, Herbal Garden, Disease Diagnosis, and Surgical System.

The investigation also discovered that the availability of hospital workers was only 59. There isn’t a single Sanskrit teacher in the college. At the same time, according to the standard, the hospital should have 224 beds, but 56 were discovered to be missing.

The Principal has been informed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine that the case will be heard online on November 11. The college administration must respond to the commission’s questions on the aforementioned points by 2 p.m. on November 10.
