How do I study NCERT for UPSC?

Shortlist

Candidates must prioritise the books because not all NCERTs are appropriate for UPSC preparation.

Class VI-X: At least once go through History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.

History, Geography, Sociology, and Psychology are studied in classes XI-XII.

Subject-by-subject research

Once the books have been chosen, read them in order of subject rather than class. Abhijeet explains with an example: First, complete all NCERT (6th to 12th) Geography, then move on to Politics, and finally Economics.

Underline

When reading a topic for the first time, do not underline or make notes on it. Now, read the same topic again and underline the key points and make notes in your native language based on your understanding.
