Bhallamudi Ravi takes charge as the new director of NITK: Bhallamudi Ravi has been appointed by the Ministry of Education as the new director of the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Surathkal.

On Thursday, Ravi assumed office in a simple ceremony from Prasad Krishna, director of NIT Calicut and additional charge director of NITK Surathkal.

Ravi previously held the position of Institute Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay. He is an illustrious alumnus of another NIT (Rourkela) and completed his master’s and doctoral degrees at IISc Bangalore. In addition to directing the Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship, he is well-known for his contributions to the disciplines of metal casting and medical devices.

Prasad Krishna congratulated the new director, Ravi, and stated that NITK serves as a paradigm for the entire NIT system, including NIT Calicut. As a graduate of NITK, I am always pleased of my university. I am confident that under Ravi’s capable stewardship, NITK Surathkal will challenge the top IITs in the NIRF India Rankings. I am confident that the new director will advance the institute’s progress.”

Ravi thanked Prasad Krishna and all other stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni, for their devoted efforts to make NITK, Surathkal, a highly regarded institution. He solicited their input and assistance in elevating the institute’s excellence and influence.
