Budget 2023: 38800 teachers will be recruited in Eklavya schools, other important announcement

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman outlined seven budget priorities for 2023-24. Included in this are infrastructure, green development, the financial sector, and youth power.

In her budget speech for 2023, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several significant announcements regarding the development of the education sector and the increase of youth employment and skills. According to the National Education Policy, the focus will be on skill development, as stated by the Minister of Finance. Employment-creating economic policies will be prioritised. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 will be introduced. In the country, thirty Skill India International Centers will be established. In engineering schools, 100 labs will be established to develop applications for 5G services. In three years, 47 million young people will receive an allowance (stipend). A national apprenticeship programme will be implemented.

Significant announcement

In 740 Eklavya schools across the country, 38,800 teachers and support staff will be hired over the next three years.

There will be a national digital library established. In addition, there will be an emphasis on establishing separate libraries at the state level.

Since 2014, 157 new medical colleges have been established. Will prepare for medical school research.

The National Book Trust and the Children’s Book Trust will provide physical libraries with books in local languages and English.
