Why are skill subjects important for class 10th students?

Skill subjects are not only important to develop creative and innovative skills among students but can also be helpful in increasing their board exam percentage. CBSE Class 10 students can choose a skill-based subject as a sixth subject apart from five main subjects – Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English and Second Language.

Now, as per the policy of CBSE, if a student fails in any one of the three optional subjects (Maths, Science and Social Science), he/she will be given skill subject (selected as 6th additional subject) and CBSE Result will be replaced. Class 10 board exam will be calculated accordingly.
