Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine), Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) and Prof Ibne Ahmad stressed the need for organising more such CME and the Workshop programmes.
Knowledge of updated skills and practices was imparted to the faculty members and resident doctors in the Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Workshop programmes on ‘Interventional Radiology’ of the Department of Radiodiagnosis, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
The resource person, Dr Shams Iqbal (Interventional Radiologist, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard, USA) demonstrated the endoscopic biliary stenting procedure to open blocked bile duct (tube) and showed how a stent is placed into the blocked bile duct.
He also gave demonstrations of other interventional procedures in patients of liver tumors.
