Congress-led Karnataka government plans new education policy: The Congress-led government of Karnataka has decided not to adhere to the National Education Policy (NEP) established by the previous BJP-led government. Instead, they wish to create a new education policy for the state that will ensure quality education.

The Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, stated that they met with key education figures to discuss this. Other states, including Kerala and Tamil Nadu, were also opposed to the NEP. They rapidly adopted it in Karnataka, but now they want to change it.

The deputy chief minister explained that a new education policy will be implemented the following year. A committee will be formed to deliberate on this matter. He also stated that the education system in Karnataka is responsible for the success of many of its citizens in the workforce. Siddaramaiah, the chief minister, stated that they need more time to prepare for a new policy and will continue to use the old system until the new one is complete.

The chief minister also stated that each state should determine its own educational policies. They wish to formulate a policy that meets the state’s requirements. They believe that the NEP was created without the states’ input. In another meeting, the distribution of laptops to specific student organisations was discussed. The government wishes to aid these pupils’ education. These meetings were attended by numerous influential individuals, including education officials and university administrators.
