Education in the State List: MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, called for shifting education from the concurrent list to the state list in the Constitution during his Independence Day speech on Tuesday. With this change, he claimed, local governments will be better able to manage issues that directly affect the general public.
Stalin advocated for moving education to the state level because he believed that doing so would allow for the elimination of tests like the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

This approach, which is based on the tenets of the Dravidian governance model, is in line with his goal of equitable and uniform growth for everyone.
Stalin lauded the state’s heroes during his speech, particularly the poet Subramania Bharathy, whose writings inspired the public throughout the freedom movement.
He also recalled the DMK’s earlier chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, CN Annadurai and Kalaignar Karunanidhi, who stood behind the federal government at crucial moments like the 1971 conflict with Pakistan.
