Executive engineer of Kurukshetra University held taking bribe: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Ambala unit detained an executive engineer (XeN) from the construction branch of Kurukshetra University (KU), allegedly for demanding and accepting Rs 1 lakh in bribes.
An ACB official identified the accused XeN as Pankaj Sharma, who allegedly solicited a bribe in exchange for passing contractor invoices.
An ACB official stated, “A contractor complained that his bills for construction work done at KU were unpaid, and the accused XeN demanded Rs 1 lakh as a bribe, despite having previously accepted Rs 3.5 lakh.”
On Friday, the accused XeN was charged under Section 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the ACB Ambala police station.
