Foundation stone for Central Tribal University Andhra Pradesh to be laid in July

Foundation stone for Central Tribal University: In the following month, VISAKHAPATNAM will witness the laying of the cornerstone for the Central Tribal University of AP’s permanent campus. Wednesday, state chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made the announcement at the Amma Vodi fourth-year funds release ceremony in Kurupam, Parvathipuram district.

Despite the fact that the university was founded in 2019, it has been operating from a transitory campus. The university was granted to the state by the federal government under the 13th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act of 2014. Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business Finance and Commerce, Communications and Journalism, Management Studies, and Science and Mathematics are offered by the university.

The identified site for the university is approximately 60 kilometres from the Bhogapuram International Airport, which is currently under construction, and 38 kilometres from the Vizianagaram Railway Station. The lengthy process of securing a suitable piece of land for the university’s permanent campus has impeded the construction of the permanent campus.

The CTUAP operates out of a transit campus in Vizianagaram, and the state government allocated over 425 acres of land in the district’s Mentada mandal. The University administration had previously requested that the government approve 100 additional acres for future requirements.

The federal government authorised 834 billion rupees for the construction of the university. 420 billion rupees were approved for the first phase of construction.
There would be a classroom complex, which is a novel concept, consisting of 60 classrooms in a multistory building. The plan also includes a community hall with a capacity of 300, a boys’ and girls’ hostel with a capacity of 1,000, a mess, and a commissary.

On the permanent campus, approximately 100 accommodations, including 50 for teaching and 50 for non-teaching staff, a library, and 25 departments, would be constructed. Prof. Kattamani, Vice Chancellor of the University, anticipated that the construction would be completed well in advance. Currently, the university has thirteen departments, and approximately twelve departmental science labs and one central instrumentation centre will be built. The construction would be concluded in less than two years with all high-tech equipment located in one location.

The university would be established on private land in Chinamedapalli (224 acres) and Marrivalasa (337.87 acres) According to sources, the State government, which is obligated to provide land, must pay approximately 27 crore to farmers in Chinamedapalli of Mentada mandal and Marrivalasa of Dattirajeru mandal who surrendered their land.

The government purchased 224 acres of private property in Chinamedapalli and 337.87 acres in Marrivalasa. The farmers who gave up their land have been touring government offices in search of compensation, which is approximately 12 lakh per acre.
