G20 Nations Adopt Delhi Declaration to Make Education More Inclusive and Equitable

The G20 leaders have also come to an agreement regarding the expansion of access to high-quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

G20 Nations: Saturday, the leaders of the Group of Twenty (G20) endorsed the “G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration: Delivering Quality Education” in an effort to transform the education system.

In addition to assisting educational institutions and instructors in adapting to emerging trends, one of the primary goals of this agenda is to emphasise the importance of foundational learning in bridging the digital divide.

The G20 leaders have also come to an agreement regarding the expansion of access to high-quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the promotion of scientific cooperation, and the facilitation of lifelong learning, particularly for vulnerable and marginalised groups.

Highlights of the G20 Nation Declaration on Education in New Delhi

  1. Recognise foundational learning (literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional abilities) as the primary foundation for education and employment.
  2. Reaffirm our commitment to utilising digital technologies to eliminate the digital divide for all students.
  3. Provide educational institutions and instructors with the means to keep up with emerging trends and technological advancements, including artificial intelligence.
  4. Expanding access to high-quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) should be emphasised.
  5. Reaffirm our commitment to open, equitable, and secure scientific collaboration and encourage the mobility of students, scholars, researchers, and scientists between research and higher education institutions.
  6. Emphasise the importance of enabling life-long learning concentrated on skilling, reskilling, and upskilling especially for vulnerable groups. “The G20 nations have paved the way for a brighter educational future by emphasising equity, adaptability, and collaboration on a global scale, ensuring that education remains a beacon of opportunity for all, according to the Ministry of Education.
