During the period of apprenticeship, young people will receive between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 per month.
Monday, the chief minister of the state, Pramod Sawant, emphasised the importance of apprenticeship in establishing a career by announcing that the state government will launch a platform for young people who wish to pursue higher education while working.
Under the apprenticeship programme of the prime minister, 600 young adults have joined 54 businesses and four government offices for one to one and a half years.
During the period of apprenticeship, young people will receive between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 per month.
“While working, it is possible to resume studies and earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. This week, the new platform will be inaugurated,” Sawant said, urging young people to take advantage of this opportunity.
Sawant stated that students who complete ITI, 12th grade, and graduation are required to complete an apprenticeship, for which they can register online.
He stated that even ITIs facilitate youth enrollment.
Indicating that Goa’s tourism industry, which includes the new Manohar international airport, has a significant employment potential, the chief minister stated that a minimum of two lakh jobs would be created in the hospitality industry over the next five years. Sawant stated, “If we don’t seize this opportunity, others will.”
