Below are the limits for the Junior and Senior divisions.
Junior Division/ Wing (Boys/ Girls) – 12 years to 18½ years
(Boys/Girls) Senior Division/ Wing – Up to 26 years of age
Division/Wing for Juniors (Boys/Girls) – 2 years

There is a difference in the application process for the Junior Division and the Senior Division.
The Junior Division.
Students interested in applying to the Junior Division should contact the Headmaster/Principal of the school offering the unit or part of it.
A prescribed format should be followed when submitting the application form.
A statement in Form will be filled out and signed by the headmaster in the presence of the student.
The applicant will be accepted into the Junior Division if the Headmaster does not reject the application.
If the application form is accepted, the applicant must sign a declaration in Form II, and their father or guardian must sign the same declaration.
As a final step, the headmaster will sign a certificate on the Application indicating that the applicant understands the questions posed to him or her and consents to the conditions of service, and the applicant is then deemed to have been enrolled if he or she is a minor.
(Boys/Girls) Senior Division/ Wing
Students who are interested in joining the Senior Division should get in touch with the officer commanding the closest NCC unit.
Form I will be completed by the applicant in the presence of the officer commanding the NCC unit
An applicant will be accepted for enrollment in the Senior Division or Wing if the Commanding Officer does not reject the application. A Form I declaration must be signed by the applicant
If the applicant is a minor, the parents must sign the declaration.
Enrollment applications for students from educational institutions that are not enrolled as NCC sub-units
In addition to students from NCC sub-units, students from other educational institutions may also enroll in NCC courses.
For further guidance, such students should contact the nearest NCC unit’s commanding officer.
As an NCC sub-unit, the institute will provide training to students.
The following conditions must be met by students.
It is recommended that the educational institution in which the student is currently enrolled does not have NCC.
Students receiving NCC training at educational institutions must be placed under an NCC unit that has been declared an “Open Unit” by the competent authority.
Following the submission of the application form, the documents will be verified.
Verification will be conducted by the Commanding Officer or Headmaster to whom the application form has been submitted.
It is the responsibility of the Commanding Officer or the Headmaster to verify that the candidate has applied and meets all the eligibility requirements.
Additionally, he will inquire about the suitability of an applicant or the enrollment in the unit in which he desired to enroll.
The commanding officer or the headmaster will send the applicant for a medical examination if he is satisfied with the application.
It is important to note that medical fitness is a requirement for joining NCC.
Medically unfit candidates are not permitted to join the unit under any circumstances.
It is the responsibility of the commanding officer or headmaster to reject the applications of unqualified candidates and inform them of their rejection.
