IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2023: Section-wise prep tips that’ll come handy in the last minute

In the case of equation-based questions, begin with the simpler ones and progressively progress to the more complex ones.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2023: The Prelims of the IBPS Clerk Exam, a national-level recruitment method for the appointment of clerical positions in Indian institutions, is scheduled for August 26 & 27, and September 2, 2023. In contrast, the Mains will be conducted on October 8th. The Prelims exam curriculum is divided into three major sections:

  1. Reasoning Abilities (35 marks)
  2. Mathematical aptitude (35 points)
  3. Section on English language (30 points)

The length of the examination is sixty minutes. Here are some section-specific last-minute study strategies that will make it easier for candidates to pass the examination.

Section on English language

English Language Although the English Language section of the IBPS Clerk Prelims examination is generally simple to moderate, candidates with poor grammatical skills and inadequate vocabulary find it challenging. Following these suggestions will certainly improve your performance.

Concentrate on enhancing your vocabulary and grammar skills. Pay close attention to Active and Passive Voice, Subject-Verb Agreement, as well as Tenses, Direct and Indirect Speech when writing grammatically.

Everyday comprehension and reading practise will enhance your vocabulary and wordsmithing skills, allowing you to select the most pertinent indicators, structure, and sequence of information.

Creating an inventory of words and phrases that are frequently misunderstood can also be a useful preparation strategy, especially for sentence-correction questions.

Master the art of selecting the most appropriate word or phrase by considering the sentence context attentively.

Learn idioms and phrases as opposed to single words if you wish to excel in this section. Focus on the meaning and application of idioms. Including idiomatic expressions in your daily writing and speaking practise can strengthen your understanding of this exam topic.

Reasoning Abilities for IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2023

Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Input-Output, Syllogism, Order and Ranking, Odd One Out, Data Sufficiency, Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, and Blood Relations are the primary topics covered here.

Examine the puzzles and clues with great attention. That is essential. Additionally, organise the information in grid and timeline formats.

Problems involving syllogism require the analysis of statements to determine the validity of conclusions derived from them. Utilising Venn diagrams when necessary is a wise decision.

Identify the element that does not adhere to the established pattern when encountering odd-one-out problems. Look for distinguishing qualities or characteristics that set it apart from the competition.

Mathematical Ability

The numerical ability section is crucial for evaluating the mathematical and statistical skills of candidates. Number Series, Quadratic Equation, Simplification Questions, and Data Interpretation are the most common topics of study.

Practise mental arithmetic, focusing on fundamental operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This will reduce examination time.

Focus on percentages, as they are commonly encountered. It is recommended to practise converting percentages to fractions and decimals, as this skill facilitates problem-solving involving simplification and approximation.

Practise recognising patterns, especially prevalent arithmetic or geometric progressions.

In the case of equation-based questions, begin with the simpler ones and progressively progress to the more complex ones. Gaining confidence in this procedure is crucial for answering number series questions successfully.
