ISRO YUVIKA 2024: Enrollment, Date and Selection Procedure- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has initiated a new program for schoolchildren. This program is known as the “Young Scientist Programme” or “YUva VIgyani Karyakram” The purpose of the program is to encourage students to study and conduct additional research on space science, space technology, and space application.

ISRO is coordinating YUVIKA as part of its “Catch them young” program. This initiative aims to increase student enthusiasm in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines. A large number of students are eager to enter this program and are awaiting the start of ISRO YUVIKA 2024 registration. ISRO will host the program at the following locations. Please note that this is an overnight program. It means that students must remain in the following centers until the completion of their course.

  • Satish Dhavan Space Center (SDSC), Sriharikota
  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun
  • National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad
  • North-Eastern Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong
  • Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Trivandrum

The YUVIKA 2024 Selection Method

ISRO seeks participation from individuals who excel in both academics and extracurricular activities. Consequently, the YUVIKA Selection Criteria assign equal weight to academic performance and activity participation.

The YUVIKA selection criteria and weighting of various factors are described below:

ISRO Eligibility Criteria for YUVIKA

  • The student must be enrolled in ninth grade as of January 1, 2024.
  • Only students enrolled in Indian institutions are eligible to register.

2024 ISRO YUVIKA Registration

Most probable, YUVIKA registration will begin in March 2024. The following stages describe the application procedure for those interested in applying.

  • You should commence by visiting the official website of Antriksh Jigyasa, jigyasa.iirs.gov.in/yuvika.
  • Click the “Join Now” icon located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  • A registration form will then appear on the screen.
  • This form requires precise completion of all required fields.

YUVIKA enrollment

  • After entering all of the required information, click the “Register” icon at the bottom of the form.
  • There are no registration fees associated with this application.
  • After registering, you can access your profile on the portal by authenticating in. Sign in with the password generated during registration.

  • After logging into the portal, provide the remaining information about your eighth-grade grades and participation.

Travel Expense Reimbursement Facility

ISRO will reimburse students for travel expenses incurred to participate in YUVIKA. However, there are a few essential factors to keep in mind:

  • ISRO will only cover travel expenses for the selected student. It will not reimburse the travel expenses of the accompanying family member.
  • The State Government or authorised transport will reimburse a student’s 2nd AC train or AC (including Volvo) bus fare from the closest Bus terminal or Railway Station to the reporting center and return.
  • Even if the student did not travel by the 2nd AC (II AC Class) train, ISRO will only reimburse the utmost amount for the II AC train. For instance, you will be reimbursed for the cost of the II AC train even if you travel in the 1st AC class.
  • In order to receive this amount, students must present the original ticket.
