Law Ministry Internship 2023: Last date today for LLB students to apply on legalaffairs.gov.in

Interns will be required to submit a monthly report and any allotted departmental research at the conclusion of the internship programme.

Law Ministry Internship 2023: Today, August 22, the Ministry of Law and Justice will close the application portal for the Law Ministry Internship 2023. Through the official website at legalaffairs.gov.in, students pursuing a Bachelor of Laws can apply for the LLB internship programme at the Department of Legal Affairs (DOLA).

The deadline to apply for the programme is today, August 22, at 5:30 PM, so candidates who are interested but have not yet applied should do so immediately. According to the ministry, candidates with sophisticated computer skills, including MS Office, infographics, Adobe, etc., will be favoured.

The eligibility criteria

Indian LLB students who have completed the second year of a 3-year law degree programme or the third year of a 5-year law degree programme from an accredited law school are eligible to register for the internship programme.

Length of Internship

The legal internship will last one month and commence on the first business day of each month, unless otherwise specified by the ministry. The selection of interns will be based on a written examination administered by the Indian Law Institute (ILI), Delhi.

How to Apply for Law Ministry Internship 2023?

  1. Go to legalaffairs.gov.in, the official website.
  2. On the homepage, select the link labelled “Application.”
  3. Complete the application form and upload all required documents.
  4. Download the confirmation page and print it out for future reference.

The No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be obtained from the candidate’s college or university and submitted. According to the official notification, those who have concluded their law degree are exempt from submitting the NOC and only need to upload their final year certificate.

Interns will be required to submit a monthly report and any allotted departmental research at the conclusion of the internship programme.

As stated in an official announcement, the trainees will be awarded internship certificates upon successful completion of the internship programme with a minimum attendance of 90% and feedback from the respective authority. In addition, it was stated that a stipend of Rs 1,000 may be awarded upon completion of the internship.
