All translated versions of the textbooks will be made available on the Diksha portal upon completion of the one-year process.

NCERT plans to provide new Maths textbook in 22 Indian languages: To create a regional medium of education, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has translated the newly produced Maths textbook into 22 scheduled Indian languages. The textbook is translated using the Anuvadini translation tool, which is based on the concept of machine translation. All translated versions of the textbooks will be made available on the Diksha portal upon completion of the one-year process.

The translated version of the literature has been sent to the SCERTs of various states, where native-speaking faculty members are reviewing it.
Under the condition of discretion, an NCERT source told Education Times, “In the initial phase, the newly introduced Maths textbook for classes I and II has been translated into the 22 scheduled Indian languages. The same translation procedure would be used for other subjects, based on the NCF for School Education’s guidelines.”

Curriculum developers from NCERT also participated in the translation process. “The curriculum developers assisted the Indian language translators in accordance with their needs to ensure that the translated text conveys the exact meaning in both the source and target languages,” the source explained.
Textbooks in 22 Indian languages will facilitate the education of rural students, the majority of whom grapple with languages other than their mother tongue.

Amarendra P. Behera, joint director of CIET-NCERT, states, “We have established a translation cell to supervise the translation of textbooks into 22 Indian languages. The machine translation of Maths textbooks for classes I and II has been concluded, and the translated books are currently being reviewed by SCERTs in the states and union territories.”
