NEET UG 2022: Several candidates of medical entrance examination have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-UG (NEET UG). The petition has sought a direction from the Delhi High Court to the Centre, National Testing Agency (NTA) and others to postpone the proposed NEET exam on July 17. Delhi High Court can take a decision on this matter tomorrow. The admit card of NEET exam has been issued on July 12.
It has been said in the petition that due to heavy rains in many parts of the country, there is a flood situation and in such a condition it is very difficult for the students to travel hundreds of kilometers.
The petition has also sought a direction to NTA to conduct Phase-II of NEET UG 2022. It has been said that the examination centers of the students are 150 to 200 km away. It would be difficult for them to travel in case of floods.
Last year NEET was conducted on 12 September 2021. After this the result was released on November 1. But this time the notification of NEET was issued on 6th April 2022, which is about 100 days before the examination. This has increased the stress among the children.
The petition was placed before the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court for urgent hearing by Advocate Mamta Sharma.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-UG (NEET UG) will be conducted at various examination centers located in 546 cities across the country and 14 cities outside India. NTA will organize this exam.
Through NEET exam, students will be able to take admission in various courses including MBBS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS in medical colleges (542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSC and AH colleges) across the country.
