Manipur has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2023, which was scheduled to be administered tomorrow, May 7, 2023.
In light of the situation in Manipur, the Minister of State for Education of India and BJP MP from Manipur, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, requested that the National Testing Agency (NTA) “explore the possibility of rescheduling” the medical entrance exam.
“NEET (UG)-2023 Exam for the candidates who were allotted exam centres in Manipur and their exam will be held at a later date,” reads the official announcement.
On the NTA’s decision to postpone the NEET 2023 examination for candidates allotted examination centres in Manipur, the Minister of State for Education stated: “I had requested a postponement of the exam given the current circumstances. The new exam date will be determined. There were 5751 candidates scheduled to appear at the two Manipur centres.”
“Due to broadband and internet connectivity issues, students in Manipur are unable to take the NEET (UG)-2023 exam at this time. Consequently, I asked the NTA to reschedule or postpone the state-wide examination. NTA has disseminated a notice regarding the postponement of the exam in Manipur “He added more detail.
