NEP 2020 makes the students the carrier: NEP 2020 transforms students into carriers: According to a report from JAMMU, under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is promoting an education system that makes students conscious rather than mechanical. Manoj Sinha, lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Thursday that education promotes continuous learning and enables students to adapt to change in various industries.

“The National Education Policy-2020 promotes lifelong learning and allows students to adapt to change in a variety of sectors,” Individuality, independence, Critical Thinking, and Creativity will enhance resilience and adaptability, said the Lt. Governor today at the special convocation of the University of Jammu. We cannot predict the talents that will be necessary within the next decade.

The Lieutenant Governor thanked the J&K Higher Education Council, the vice-chancellors of all J&K universities, and other stakeholders for their significant contribution to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the promotion of independent thought, scientific temperament, creativity, and the development of distinctive personalities among students.

“Only that education will be relevant in the future that prepares the student for lifelong learning with spiritual and cultural values,” he said, adding, “Education that not only imparts technical knowledge but also promotes the student’s individuality and distinctiveness. Education fosters student success by refining their critical and creative thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the students and urged them to pursue their passion, move forward with new resolutions, adapt to change and acquire new knowledge accordingly, and share the knowledge they have acquired at the University with the world. Convocation is the defining event of an individual’s life. As stated by the Lieutenant Governor, entering the real world is also viewed as the beginning of a new mission, a mission to utilise specialised knowledge and skills and to contribute to equitable, sustainable development in order to build a strong and prosperous India.

“Convocation is a time for teacher pride as well. Our ancient text describes in meticulous detail the relationship between Guru and Disciple. Guru prays that both his own prominence and that of his disciple will increase simultaneously. This exemplifies the highest Indian cultural values.”

“We must respect the uniqueness and individuality of every student,” stated the lieutenant governor.

“Classrooms should instill courage, empower students with the ability to think independently, and inspire them to become a better person, not just a class leader,” stated the lieutenant governor.

The lieutenant governor stated that in the future, pupils will no longer attend universities to acquire academic knowledge or additional information.

“Universities will need to prepare human capital to ensure its continued relevance in this algorithm-driven, rapidly changing world,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor also extended his sincere congratulations to the faculty and instructors of the University of Jammu.

In praising the new initiatives of University of Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor stated, “I am confident that in the coming days, Jammu University will give new direction to the country’s education sector.”

Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Sinha expressed appreciation to Vice President Biden for attending the commencement ceremony and blessing the students as they began their careers.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, Prof. Umesh Rai, presented the University’s report and highlighted upcoming special programmes. He stated that the University is in the process of establishing a Hindi Directorate and a Dogri Excellence Centre.
