NIT Trichy to verify DPR of semi-ring road: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will utilise the expertise of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Trichy to review the detailed project report (DPR) for the realigned section of stage I of the semi-ring road. 90% of land acquisition for the link road connecting the Trichy-Madurai National Highway with the Trichy-Karur National Highway via the Trichy-Dindigul National Highway has already been concluded by NHAI. The majority of landowners were compensated for allowing the construction of the semi-ring road to decongest Trichy.

NIT Trichy to verify DPR of semi-ring road

The NHAI announced that the NIT Trichy will be enlisted to receive suggestions for adding facilities to the realigned section of the semi-ring road, which has been lingering for more than a decade. The length of the road rerouted so as not to impact the water bodies is anticipated to be between 20 and 21 kilometres.

“Once the NIT-Trichy verifies the DPR, we will submit it to our headquarters for further development, including the issuance of a tender to identify a suitable contractor to carry out the realignment of the semi-ring road,” a source told TOI. Stage I of the semi-ring road will connect Panjapur on the Trichy-Madurai National Highway to Jeeyapuram on the Trichy-Karur National Highway via Thayanur on the Trichy-Dindigul National Highway.
