One-Week Financial Modeling and Valuation Workshop at AMU’s Dept of Commerce

The workshop aimed to provide participants with essential financial modeling and valuation skills, featuring a distinguished panel of industry professionals as speakers.

The Department of Commerce at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a “One-Week Financial Modeling and Valuation Workshop” from August 19th to August 24th. The workshop aimed to provide participants with essential financial modeling and valuation skills, featuring a distinguished panel of industry professionals as speakers.

Notable industry experts, including Mr. Manoj Kumar from the Investment Banking Institute in Delhi, Mr. Ankur Gaur (Global Head of Delivery Placement at the same institute), Mr. Asif Khan (Manager – FP&A, GBS Hitachi India), and Dr. Mohd Shoeb (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce), led the workshop sessions, ensuring comprehensive insights into financial modeling and valuation techniques.

The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who benefited from the expertise and practical knowledge shared by the speakers. The valedictory ceremony held on August 28, 2023, featured Prof. Mohd Nasir Zamir Qureshi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, emphasizing the workshop’s significance in enhancing students’ marketability through skill-based learning.

Prof. S.M Imamul Haque, Chairman of the Department of Commerce, praised the organizers’ efforts and encouraged more such learning platforms to be developed. Certificates were distributed to participants, volunteers, and organizers, acknowledging their contributions.

Student coordinators Inamullah Khan and Suhail Khan played pivotal roles in managing various aspects of the workshop, contributing to its success. A dedicated team of volunteers also played a crucial role in ensuring the workshop’s effectiveness.

Dr. Mohd Saeem Khan and Dr. Jahangir Chauahan, Assistant Professors at the Department of Commerce, organized and coordinated the workshop. The event concluded with Dr. Mohd Saeem Khan extending a vote of thanks to all involved parties.
