Opportunity to do course in programming and data science from IIT Madras without JEE

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has invited applications for the B.Sc in Programming and Data Science. The course has started with the option of a four-year BS degree course in Data Science and Applications.

It also has the option of entry and exit in many ways. That is, students taking admission in the course will have the option to leave the course in the middle, in which they will be awarded a certificate or diploma or degree. For admission in this course, the candidate must be studying 12th and have passed 10th with English and Maths. In 12th, the student should also have the relevant subject in which he/she wants to take admission for diploma/degree. According to IIT, there is no age limit for the candidates for admission in this course. That is, any qualified person can do a course from IIT Madras.

As per the rules of BS Level (Degree Level) course, the student will be able to do an apprenticeship of 8 months or work in a project with a company or with a research institute.

According to IIT Madras, currently more than 13000 students have enrolled themselves for this course. Most of these students are from Tamil Nadu. It is followed by Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. According to IITs, offline examinations are being conducted for these students in 116 examination centers across the country. Examination centers have also been set up outside the country in UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Sri Lanka.

The last date to apply for admission in this course is August 19. The course will start from September 2022. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the website.

Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras said that IIT Madras is happy that such a good course has been started here. BS in Data Science and Applications degree is a highly job oriented course. Its demand in the industry is also high. Along with this, admission can be taken without JEE exam.
