Scleral Lens Workshop: For eye care professionals and optometry students, the Paramedical College, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University arranged a session filled with practical exercises. Beyond the Limbus: Visual and ocular surface rehabilitation with rigid or scleral lenses was the workshop’s title, and Mr. Gagan Sahni of Silverline Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. and his colleagues led it.
The Paramedical College’s principal, prof. Ibne Ahmad, greeted the team and thanked them.
Prof. Adeeb Alam Khan presented the trainers, and Prof. A.K. Amitava, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, urged the students to hone their practical skills.

The principal trainer, Mr. Gagan Sahni, highlighted the importance of mastering the dispensing of scleral lenses. “A good fitting for a scleral lens is very important, but as a practitioner you should be able to teach the patient how to use the lens, proper dispensing and counselling is crucial,” he stated, addressing the guests.
Ms. Saima Ahsan, the workshop’s organising secretary and a faculty member in the optometry section, led and wrapped up the event. According to her, information regarding the potential use of rigid gas permeable contact lenses in visual rehabilitation was given to the students.
A certificate of participation was distributed to the workshop participants.
