Paramedical College (AMU) organises workshop for optometry students

Prof. Adeeb Alam Khan urged the Lenskart team to facilitate the campus selection of AMU students in their reputed business house.

The Paramedical College, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University organized a workshop to facilitate meaningful interaction between optometry students and the Lenskart team, and provide them with an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest eyewear fitting techniques, lens and frame types, and recent advances in ophthalmic dispensing.

Prof. Veena Maheshwari, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, said that the Paramedical College, despite being a new entity in AMU’s educational framework, is doing great service to people as it is making the students job-ready.

Prof. Haris M. Khan, Principal and Medical Superintendent, JNMC, highlighted the importance of the workshop and discussed the prospects of paramedics outside India.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof. Ibne Ahmad, Principal, Paramedical College discussed the significance of the programme and urged the students to focus on learning new trends in eyewear fashion and refresh their knowledge with the passing time to remain relevant in this business.

Explaining the objective behind organizing the workshop, Ms. Saima Ahsan, a faculty member in the optometry section, said that the students were provided information about the growth path in this field and their place on the growth curve.

“Relevant practical tips on how to manage a retail outlet, and the functioning of Lenskart were also given to the students,” she added.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Nida Nawaz and Dr Abdul Waris, Officer Incharge of the course, extended a vote of thanks.

The workshop participants were felicitated with a certificate of participation.
