Receipt of Tulu Poem: Almost a year after Ashwath Tuluve, the then president of Jai Tulunad, wrote to all the chief ministers and sent them a copy of Tulu Purpa – a collection of Tulu poems, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma responded with a letter of thanks. .

Tuluve told,  “As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Jai Tulunad published a book titled ‘Tulu Purpa’ comprising 111 Tulu poems written by 111 authors. The works are original and by emerging poets.”

When the book was released on August 15 last year and we sent copies to the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister, all the CMs, including the Karnataka CM In the state, a copy of the book was sent to the minister for home affairs and Kannada and to the minister for culture. In a letter dated July 20, the Assam CM stated that “It is indeed a matter of great pride for Tulu speakers that their language is considered to be one of the “Panchamaha-Dravida-Bhasha”.

The Constitution gives everyone the right to preserve and propagate their own language and culture. Every language is a storehouse of wisdom and a tool for the search of knowledge Tulu language is considered as one of the five major southern languages ​​so there is no exception here, the CM said in his letter. “I firmly believe that such a rich language as Tulu must be given its rightful place. I am sure that the wishes and desires of the people of Tuli will be recognized and necessary measures will be taken from all quarters in the coming days, said Sarma.
