In addition, the project work for classes 9 and 10 will entail creating a list of regional environmental difficulties under the Geography curriculum and will also find solutions or strategies to deal with these problems.

Safe City Project: The Safe City Project, which aims to ensure the safety of women, children, the old, and the disabled, is being worked on by the government of Uttar Pradesh. Coordinating this will be 12 departments, including the Department of Justice, Urban Development, Transportation, Women and Child Development, Information and Public Relations, and Education. According to reports, the state administration has also set a timeframe for finishing the project’s first phase of development.

There are rumours that the Uttar Pradesh Board will introduce 30 marks in projects as part of the 9th and 10th grade curriculum. According to reports, starting with the academic year 2023–2024, this project work will be a component of the Social Science curriculum. According to sources, a step towards incorporating the Safe City Project in Uttar Pradesh is to educate students about not just their own safety but also the safety of children, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Students will need to concentrate on these elements in their work as well.

The students will be required to compile data and accounts of incidents pertaining to women’s safety, traffic safety, and disabled people’s safety in addition to writing about them.

Students will be expected to make notes, gather relevant information, and call government hotlines. Students will also need to include women’s contributions to the independence movement in their project.

In addition, the project work for classes 9 and 10 will entail creating a list of regional environmental difficulties under the Geography curriculum and will also find solutions or strategies to deal with these problems. Students will research environmental issues in cities and discuss potential solutions in accordance with the facts provided. The UP Board has also given directives to all of the recognised secondary schools’ principals on the same.

Three phases will be used to implement the Safe City Project. Gautam Buddha Nagar and 17 municipal corporations are included in the first phase, while 57 district headquarters municipalities will be included in the second phase. It will encompass 143 municipalities in the third and final phase.
