Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2023 mop-up round:  Today, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DME) in Chennai began accepting applications on its website for the Tamil Nadu NEET UG mop-up round. The registration deadline for the final round is September 14, 2023. This round provides applicants with an additional opportunity to secure medical or dental school seats in the state.

To register for the Mop-Up Round, interested candidates may visit the DME, Tamil Nadu official website at. To ensure eligibility for this round, it is crucial to adhere to the specified registration dates.

Important dates for the Tamil Nadu NEET UG Mop-Up Round include the processing of seat allotment on September 15, 2023, the announcement of results on September 16, 2023, the provision for downloading the Provisional Allotment Order (which is considered confirmation of joining) from September 17, 2023 to September 21, 2023 (until 5:00 P.M.), and the deadline for reporting to the allotted institution on September 22, 2023 (until 3:00 P.M.).

There is no deposit required for government quota seats in government medical and dental colleges, a deposit of Rs. 30,000/- is applicable for government quota seats in self-financing medical/dental colleges and state private universities, and a deposit of Rs. 1,00,000/- is required for management quota seats, including minority/NRI lapsed category seats in self-financing med/den colleges.

Note that candidates who previously participated in the selection process (R1/R2) and paid their registration fee and security deposit but were not awarded MBBS/BDS seats are not required to pay these fees again. This exemption pertains to those who have previously attempted the selection rounds without success.

  2. Locate the registration link for the NEET UG Mop-Up Round on the website’s homepage. To begin the registration procedure, click on the icon.
  3. Pay the registration fee based on the category of your seat. It is Rs. 500 for government quota seats and Rs. 1,000 for management quota seats. Follow the provided payment instructions, which may include debit/credit cards, net banking, or other online payment options.
  4. During the registration procedure, you must select your seat category (government quota or management quota) according to your preference and eligibility.
  5. Depending on the seat category you’ve selected, pay the refundable security deposit. For government quota seats in government medical and dental schools, a security deposit may not be required. For other categories, however, follow the deposit amount instructions specified.
  6. After successfully paying the fee and security deposit, the sixth step is to conclude the registration process. As required, ensure that you provide accurate and current information.
