Study Abroad Destinations for Indian Students: According to data provided by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), between 2017 and 2022, over 1,300,000 Indian students studied abroad. In response to a query in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Education, Subahs Sarkar, revealed the number of Indian students enrolled in foreign universities and colleges.
“According to MEA, approximately 1.3 million pupils will be studying abroad in 2022 for a variety of programmes. Mr. Sarkar responded in writing that the Ministry of Education does not maintain any information regarding the costs incurred by Indian pupils pursuing higher education abroad.
