The workshop is the outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding that Professors Saleha Khummawala of the University of Houston and Asiya Chaudhary of AMU previously signed.

Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, the Finance Officer of AMU and Chairperson of the SURE Programme, stressed the value of entrepreneurship in his presidential remarks during the inaugural session. He noted that entrepreneurship is essential to the nation’s development and social uplift. According to him, the curriculum for the project is made up of lessons that are intended to foster an entrepreneurial attitude that views failures and challenges as opportunities for creativity rather than as barriers to be overcome.

The principal guest, Mr. Mohammad Imran (IPS), the registrar of AMU, emphasised the importance of creating value and growing enterprises via innovation. He also mentioned that all large companies began as modest entrepreneurial endeavours and that success requires patience and a well-thought-out plan.

If you have the ability and self-assurance to seize opportunities and overcome obstacles, the market is yours.

The honoree, Mr. Arsalan Zuberi, Director and Promoter of Zubair Duplex Pvt Ltd in Aligarh, challenged the attendees to “make an effort to turn their ideas into reality, rather than letting them remain simply ideas.” He claimed that in the age of digitalization and social media platforms, scaling up is now simpler because of improved connectivity systems.

During the program’s discussion, Prof. Nasir Zamir Qureshi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, added that the workshop offers a networking and educational opportunity, fostering value-added partnerships between students, business professionals, and prospective entrepreneurs from a variety of backgrounds and underserved communities.

According to him, the programme will assist participants in pitching in with the District Industry Centre (DIC), bankers, funders, buyers, suppliers, and attorneys. It will also facilitate knowledge orientation in the areas of accounting, taxation, legal, marketing, financial literacy, and banking.

Prof. Asiya Chaudhary, convenor and director of the SURE Programme, offered a vote of appreciation after Prof. Imamul Haque, chairman of the Department of Commerce, had earlier welcomed the attendees and guests. Ambreen Saleem, MD, led the first meeting.
