UGC has no proposal to absorb ad-hoc teachers in universities: education ministry

Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar told the Lok Sabha on Monday that the University Grants Commission (UGC) is not considering any proposal to make temporary teachers permanent in central universities. The Minister of State for Education said, “There is no proposal to make permanent teachers permanent before the University Grants Commission. However, Ministry of Education and UGC request all Central Universities from time to time to fill up the posts regularly.

Good news for adhoc teachers in DU, registrar gave this order to colleges

According to the data shared by Subhash Sarkar, a total of 3904 teachers are posted on temporary posts in the Central University, out of which 1820 teachers are on contract basis and 1931 as guest teachers. Delhi University has 248 guest teachers, Allahabad University has 150 guest teachers. In Delhi University, 1044 teachers are appointed on contract basis while in Aligarh Muslim University this number is 159.
