More than three thousand candidates applied for the position of 69000 teachers in Uttar Pradesh’s council primary schools. Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, Secretary Examination Regulatory Authority, had requested representations by January 19 from such candidates who had filed petitions or appeals in the High Court by August 25, 2021. 3192 representations have been received as of the last date. The government appealed the High Court order to the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal.
