UPSC IAS: The story of IAS Kanika Rathi, who secured 64th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021, is going to teach a lesson to lakhs of youth preparing for this challenging exam. Kanika’s story shows how important patience is for success in this exam. Kanika Rathi, a resident of Bahadurgarh, Haryana, started preparing for UPSC in the year 2015. He failed in prelims both in the year 2016 and 2017. This shocked them. He gave exams for other government jobs and got selected in the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2019. While doing a government job, he again gave another UPSC attempt. This time also she failed to clear the prelims.

Kanika’s mind was in UPSC Civil Services only. He decided to leave the government job of the Ministry of Home Affairs. How was the preparation, tips given to the youth

– I used to study in breaks. Used to study for 6 to 8 hours. After studying for two hours, she used to take a break.
I will not say that everyone should prepare like me leaving a government job. Everyone should see their own potential. I was not able to study with my job, so I left the job.
Don’t study with pressure.
Take a decision at the right time to get into a government job.
– First attempt. Let’s see and don’t give in the mood. Damage occurs later.
– I took coaching. But there is no substitute for self-study. Self-study will lead to success.
– Give a lot of mock tests. I was not clearing prelims because I was not giving mocks.
Preparation for prelims and mains should be done together.
Optional notes should be such that the book itself does not have to be referred.
No need to make notes of Laxmikant and Spectrum History.
– Test yourself whether you are able to write properly what you know or not.
