UPSC IAS Interview Questions 2022: During UPSC interview, most of the questions are asked keeping in mind your DFA (Detailed Application Form) and optional subject. The educational background that you have mentioned in DFA will definitely be asked one question or the other.

Shruti Sharma, who topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021, was asked a lot of questions related to her education background in her interview.

Shruti, who secured 173 marks out of 250 in the interview, did her graduation and post graduation in History Honors. In an interview, she told that she was unhappy after the UPSC interview. He told that he was asked too many factual questions and very few thought questions.

She said, ‘I had high hopes for the interview. Factual questions were asked a lot in my interview. I was asked less other questions as factual questions were asked more. I was asked questions about the Continuous Voyage, the assassination of Lord Mayo, the War of 1812 that I did not know. It made me very sad that factual questions were being asked one after the other for which I did not know the answers.

The war of 1812 was fought between the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Lord Mayo was the fourth Viceroy of India. In February 1872, he was murdered in Port Blair by a man named Sher Ali Afridi. Sher Ali was a former British soldier. He was convicted of the murder of a relative. Unhappy with the punishment, Ali wanted to kill a senior British officer in revenge. Afridi was hanged for this crime.

Apart from this, she was asked whether you think history repeats itself? Apart from this, questions were asked on Maurya Dynasty, Champaran Satyagraha, World War, SDG (Sustainable Development Goal).

The UPSC topper said, ‘I was not speaking directly for the questions I did not know the answer to during the interview. I was honestly speaking that I do not know the answer to this question.’

Shruti Sharma offered these tips

While preparing, focus on the syllabus. Revise more and more. Focus on basic books.

Have limited books.

Revision and practice must be done.

Counting the hours doesn’t do anything.

She said, ‘I did not expect to top. Yes, I wanted to be in the top 100. Wanted to come in top 100 so that I don’t read to sit in the exam again. I had chosen Arts stream in 11th because I had a lot of interest in Social Science. After this I chose History Honors course in graduation. In graduation, the goal of going into the academic line was also spinning in my mind. But after completing graduation, made a goal to go to civil services.
