Varanasi Girl and Kanpur Boy Secure Top Ranks in UP B.Ed Entrance Test: Shalini Patel of Varanasi topped the joint entrance exam for admissions to Bachelor of Education (BED – JEE) in Lucknow. Shalini, an arts graduate, scored 92.5 percent, or 370 out of 400 points. She also placed first in the girl’s category. Rahul Kumar, a native of Kanpur, earned the second-place finish. Rahul, an agriculture student scored 90% (360 marks). Mateshwari Prasad, an art student from Parayagraj, placed third. His grade was 88.75% (355 points).

OBC candidates dominated their respective categories, claiming eight of the top ten positions. The admissions counselling is anticipated to commence on July 10th.

UPBEd-JEE was the first competitive exam in the state of Uttar Pradesh to be conducted under CCTV surveillance with real-time monitoring and face recognition attendance of candidates. To ensure the integrity of examinations, the university installed 23,500 CCTV cameras for real-time surveillance of examination centres as part of an Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC).

A total of 4,750,000 candidates registered for the exam, which was administered in two sessions at 1,108 centres in 75 UP districts. There are 2,533,000 seats in 2,510 colleges in the state that offer BEd programmes. This includes 7,800 seats in 117 government and assisted colleges. There are 2.45 million seats available in 2,393 private colleges.

Vinay Singh, registrar of Bundelkhand University, stated, “The first round of counselling is anticipated to begin on July 10.” We have requested that all universities announce their UG final-year results by the beginning of July.”
