High placements in prestigious rankings can aid in luring top talent from around the globe, and international students and intellectuals.

World University Rankings: The 48th position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, which were released earlier today, sees TU Delft move up 22 places. The university also made huge strides in the Dutch rankings, moving up from 4th position to 1st this year.

THE’s new technique, which is based on new indicators for calculating citations, is primarily responsible for TU Delft’s climb of 22 positions. This modification and the addition of the new indicators Patients & International Co-authorship have benefited TU Delft. As in prior years, the institution received top marks for the metrics Research excellence and Research Influence, as well as for Research income, patents, industry income, and international students and employees. THE’s annual Academic Reputation Survey, in which people choose colleges they believe excel in research and teaching, public statistics, data provided by the universities themselves, and the ranking are all taken into consideration.

World University Rankings

Along with the Shanghai ranking and the QS ranking, which measure all universities universally, including general universities and universities of technology, the THE Ranking is one of the top university rankings in the world. However, the subject rankings and speciality rankings, such as the Engineering & Technology rankings, are more pertinent for TU Delft. Each ranking has its own strengths and flaws and is based on a different set of criteria and techniques. High placements in prestigious rankings can aid in luring top talent from around the globe, and international students and intellectuals wishing to study or work abroad frequently base their selection of universities on these rankings.

Following the growth of universities in Southeast Asia and significant spending on education and science in the US (mostly private) and Europe (public and private), there has been fierce competition in the rankings in recent years. Additionally, a growing number of new universities are making their way into the rankings.
