Youth Delegation Attending Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP) Call On President

The youth are in Delhi as part of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs' Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP), which is designed to assist young people from the most severely impacted regions by left-wing extremism.

Today, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, a youth delegation from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh paid a visit to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. The youth are in Delhi as part of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs’ Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP), which is designed to assist young people from the most severely impacted regions by left-wing extremism.

The President, in his address to the delegation, urged them to place complete trust in the democratic system and the constitution of the nation. She stated that all individuals have equal access to opportunities under our democratic system. They must merely establish their path through diligence and perseverance. She declared their future to be promising. She emphasized that violence is never a viable means of attaining development.

The President declared that the Government is committed to the comprehensive advancement of the nation and every individual within it. Without discrimination, it is dedicated to providing equal opportunities for all individuals. For the benefit of all, the government is constructing roads, communication, educational, and medical facilities in even the most remote regions. Numerous ITIs and Skill Development Centers have been established with the objective of providing employment opportunities and enhancing the vocational skills of young individuals.

Education, according to the President, is the cornerstone of both individual and community progress. She strongly encouraged them to recognize the significance of education and to spread that awareness to others. She recommended that they draw inspiration from the ideals and values of our progenitors in order to fortify India.

Previously, on October 18, 2023, in New Delhi, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah interacted with 200 tribal youth under TYEP. During this occasion, the Home Minister stated that violence cannot create employment and that for development and the establishment of fundamental infrastructure, it is necessary to integrate into mainstream society. Shri Shah further stated that the tribal youth have an obligation to avoid straying from the correct path and to prevent others from doing so. The Home Minister instructed the tribal youth to inform their compatriots back home that the nation is currently making significant strides in all sectors due to the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Furthermore, the minister stated that the tribal people have abundant opportunities in every industry.

The Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP) has been administered by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the past fifteen years. The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), which operates under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is in charge of the program. Young men and women from tribal communities residing in the interior regions that are most impacted by left-wing extremism are transported to major cities and metropolitan areas throughout the nation as part of this initiative.

In November 2023, a Tribal Youth Exchange Program was orchestrated in Delhi. In addition to a visit to the Honda Factory in Manesar and the Incubation Centre and Innovation Lab at IIIT Delhi, these youth will receive education, skill development, career counseling, and business and entrepreneurship guidance during the Delhi program. In addition, the program will include a Youth Parliament, a visit to the Tribal Research Institute, counseling for police recruitment and guidance from senior officers at the CRPF Camp, a tour of significant locations in Delhi, a cultural program, and a speech competition. Young administrative officers will provide encouragement and direction.
