2024 SAG Awards Host Revealed: Who Will Lead the Prestigious Event?

The SAG Awards, a precursor to the Academy Awards, are set to announce their 2024 winners during the awards season.

2024 SAG Awards Host: As the awards season gets underway, the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) for 2024 are drawing near. The awards are for movies and television shows that came out in 2023, but who is the favorite to win, and who is up for one of the most prestigious honors in the business?

Because they have fewer categories than the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards are frequently seen as a forerunner to the Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars.

Barbie fared poorly there, winning only two prizes, whereas Oppenheimer excelled. This summer’s two biggest movies will square off again with four nominations each. There are three more in each of American Fiction and Killers of the Flower Moon.

SAG Awards Voting: How are SAG Award winners determined?

Awards for best lead actress, best lead actor, and best supporting actress will go to Margot Robbie, Cillian Murphy, and Emily Blunt, respectively, while Ryan Gosling and Robert Downey Jr. will compete for best-supporting actor, having given strong performances in both movies.

With five nominations, Succession leads the TV category; Ted Lasso, The Bear, and The Last of Us each received four nods.

Who is 2024 SAG Awards Host?

The awards ceremony has not had a presenter since 2021, and this arrangement appears to be effective.

Rather, ‘ambassadors’ are featured during the show; Phil Dunster and Taylor Zakhar Perez have been appointed as 2024’s ambassadors.

‘Queer Eye’ actress Tan France and fashion editor Elaine Welteroth will emcee the SAG pre-show, which will focus on analyzing the different looks and ensembles that are on exhibit as the celebrities walk the red carpet.

Who is broadcasting the SAG Awards?

At 19:00 ET / 16:00 PT, the pre-show will be shown live on Netflix, YouTube, and TikTok.

This year’s awards will only be accessible to Netflix subscribers, in contrast to last year’s presentation, which was shown live on the Netflix YouTube channel. The stream is scheduled to start at 17:00 PT / 20:00 ET.

The iconic Los Angeles location that has hosted the Oscars, the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, will serve as the broadcast location for the two-hour live event.
