Google Doodle: Celebrates actress Sridevi’s 60th birthday with a tribute

In February 2018, the renowned actress inadvertently drowned in a hotel bathtub after falling unconscious, according to the Dubai administration.

Google Doodle: On Sunday, Google created a creative doodle to commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of late Indian film icon Sridevi. Sridevi began her illustrious career in Indian cinema at the tender age of four, honored the industry with her extraordinary talent for nearly four decades, and appeared in over three hundred films.

Sridevi’s final film appearance was in the 2017 film Mom, and she passed away in February 2018. Google stated that guest artist Bhumika Mukherjee from Mumbai created the doodle.

Sridevi Biography: Early Life, Career, Awards, Personal Life, Death

On her birthday (August 13) this year, along with a special doodle of the actress depicting her in a dance pose surrounded by flowers, Google shared information about her voyage in Indian cinema.

“As a child, she fell in love with cinema and made her acting debut in the Tamil film Kandhan Karunai at the age of four. Sridevi learned numerous South Indian languages, allowing her to enter India’s other film industries, according to Google.

After playing the lead role in the action comedy “Himmatwala,” Sridevi established herself as a national icon and box office draw in Bollywood, according to Google. She secured her position as one of the few Bollywood actresses to lead blockbuster films without a male actor in a traditionally male-dominated industry with successes such as ‘Sadma’ and ‘Chaalbaaz’ over the course of the next decade.

In addition, the Indian government awarded her the Padma Shri. According to Google, Sridevi’s performance in the 2017 criminal thriller “Mom” as an enraged and protective mother earned her the National Film Award for best actress.

On this occasion, Google India tweeted, “We’ve all danced to her tunes, admired her performances, and attempted to recreate her iconic fashion moments using #ASrideviMoment. This #GoogleDoodle was created to honor her life and legacy. Tell us in the comments your favorite Sridevi film!”

“Sridevi left an indelible impact on the film industry by paving the way for women to assume leading roles in Indian cinema by pioneering new paths. She was one of the greatest Indian actresses of her period. Best wishes on your birthday, Sridevi!” Google included.
