Movies and TV shows in 2024: Since 2023 is practically the past, it’s time to consider what TV series and motion pictures are still in the works.

Fortunately, there will be no shortage of movies and TV shows in 2024. You know, tumbleweeds are ahead for the remainder of the year (i.e., it will be time to start watching more reality TV) before streamers feel the effects of the Hollywood writers’ strike.

But we’re getting off-topic; below are some of the most intriguing products that will be available in 2019.

Movies and TV shows in 2024

Binge

True Detective: Night Country

Ladies, please move forward! Returning for a fourth season, this gritty crime drama series stars Jodie Foster and Kali Reis as two women who investigate the most recent True Detective case. Together, they look into the case of eight men who vanished while they were employed at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station in Alaska.

Premiere date: January 15, 2024.

Ted

With the creator, Seth MacFarlane, returning to voice the NSFW bear, the Ted series has finally materialized more than ten years after the movie’s release. Ted is living in Massachusetts with 16-year-old John (played by The Purge actor Max Burkholder) and his family in the most recent installment, which serves as a prequel to the film.

Premiere date: January 11, 2024.

Top 10 Movies on Netflix: You Should Definitely Watch Them Right Now!

Apple TV

Masters of the Air

With cast members like Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, Ncuti Gatwa, and Callum Turner, this miniseries is essentially an actor feast. The Second World War experiences of the US Army Air Forces’ 100th Bombardment Group are chronicled in the television series.

History aficionados will love this series because it’s a miniseries that goes along with Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Your father will be pleased.

Premiere date: January 26, 2024.

Manhunt

This seven-part limited series of true crime, starring Tobias Menzies from The Crown and based on author James L. Swanson’s New York Times bestselling nonfiction book Manhunt, is sure to captivate fans with gripping thrillers on their next free night. The narrative centers on the search for John Wilkes Booth following the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Premiere date: March 15, 2024

Netflix

Fool Me Once

Harlan Coben fans, stand up! Yes, another (perhaps, undoubtedly trashy) mystery is in the works. This series, which stars Michelle Keegan, Adeel Akhtar, and Richard Armitage, of course, follows Maya (Keegan) following her husband Joe’s (Armitage) terrible death. But when she starts to doubt things after seeing footage from a nanny cam, she quickly realizes that nothing is as it seems.

Premiere date: January 1, 2024.

Good Grief

There’s potential for a good comedy-drama in this highly anticipated Dan Levy film. Along with Luke Evans, Celia Imrie, and Ruth Negga, Levy directs and acts in the film as himself. The film follows Levy’s character Marc as he travels to Paris for a vacation to process the unexpected death of his spouse, Oliver (Evans). Very enjoyable!

Premiere date: January 5, 2024.

Boy Swallows Universe

Boy Swallows Universe, a coming-of-age tale about a young child growing up in the 1980s Brisbane suburbs and having to deal with the harsh truths of life, is based on the fiction book that went viral. Numerous talented Australians, including Travis Fimmel, Simon Baker, Phoebe Tonkin, and Anthony LaPaglia, will star in the eight-part limited series.

Premiere date: January 11, 2024.

Prime Video

Foe

Irish cinema legends Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal team up for the thought-provoking film Foe, which tells the tale of a married couple who work on a farm until an unexpected visitor upends their peaceful rural existence. The same-titled novel by best-selling novelist Iain Reid served as the inspiration for this psychological thriller movie.

Premiere date: January 5, 2024.

Expats

The six-part series, set against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s city lights, centers on several ladies who had a transformative encounter and are now debating who is to blame for it. In addition to Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, and Sarayu Blue, Nicole Kidman leads the ensemble.

Premiere date: January 26, 2024.

Mr & Mrs Smith

This is a modern retelling of the beloved spy film starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, but with a unique twist. Actors Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane portray strangers who, in order to maintain their cover narrative as spies, must pose as married. Naturally, sentiments between the spies grow fast.

Premiere date: February 2, 2024.

Stan

Prosper

The Quinns are a founding family behind the megachurch U Star, located in Sydney, Australia. Richard Roxburgh and Rebecca Gibney portray them. The show begins as U Star prepares to enter the US market and the Quinn family’s image for wholesomeness is threatened by a litany of scandalous scandals.

Premiere date: January 18, 2024.

The Tourist

The much awaited second season of The Tourist, which isn’t quite a new program, will return to Stan in early 2024. Jamie Dornan is back in the part of Elliot Stanley, a guy who has lost his memory and is searching for himself. While the second season will take place in Ireland, the previous season was set in Australia.

Premiere date: January 2, 2024.
