NCIS Season 21: NCIS, which is currently in its 21st season, is the third longest-running drama series in television history, behind only Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order.

Gary Cole (Alden Parker), who succeeded Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs), has won over the team—and viewers—as its new leader, and Katrina Law (Jessica Knight), who has ably replaced Emily Wickersham (Ellie Bishop), who left the squad at the end of Season 18 as the female member of the squad, has nicely replaced her. Season 20 saw the changes introduced at the end of Season 18 and beginning of Season 19 come to fruition.

It was a beautiful moment when Jessica confessed her love to Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) in front of the entire crew, and we can only hope that Season 21 will see the development of that relationship.

There isn’t much information about Season 21 because the writers’ strike is delaying its production, but here is what we do know so far:

The Writers Guild of America strike in 2023 has delayed the announcement of NCIS’s comeback date. Before Season 21 of filming can start, the authors must report to work and compose new scripts.

Season 20 Recap

When we saw pictures of Nick wearing an orange jumpsuit in jail in the Season 20 finale, it appeared as though he had gone off the reservation once more. The truth is that he was merely acting as a cover. Nick doesn’t truly go wayward at that point though. In order to continue the investigation into the Russian spy network in the “Black Sky” episode, Torres returned undercover as Manny Delgado, who is serving a 10-year sentence for armed robbery, in the show’s opening scene.

While he was operating covertly, Nick made friends with a fellow prisoner who claimed that he was being falsely accused—don’t they all?—but Nick agreed with him since he recognised the visitor. And it was the sight of this enigmatic stranger that drove Nick crazy and produced the cliffhanger conclusion. Will Nick cross the line and impose himself as the law? Season 21 will have to pass before we learn more.

NCIS Season 21 spoilers

Since it was a cliffhanger, it’s not quite a spoiler, but Torres holding a man at gunpoint will need to be resolved when NCIS resumes. We know whatever is going on is personal since Torres called his sister to let her know he had located the man and that he was still alive, but that’s all there is at this time. We are interested in finding out more about Torres’ past.

The relationship between Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer, which was previously mentioned, will start Season 21 with both parties having confessed their love for one another. What does that ultimately mean?
