“Y arriba México, viejo!” The performer ended his performance by shouting.

Peso Pluma is nominated for a number of accolades, including the coveted trophy for Best New Artist, for which he is up against GloRilla, Ice Spice, Kaliii, PinkPantheress, and Reneé Rapp. The Eslabón Amardo collaboration “Ella Baila Sola” by Pluma was nominated for Best Latin, but lost to Anitta’s “Baile Funk.”

After topping Spotify’s Global Songs of the Summer chart with “Ella Baila Sola,” the artist is nominated for VMA Song of the Summer for “La Bebé” with Yng Lvcas. (Lvcas was also in attendance at the awards ceremony.)
