Platonic Season 2: A comedy series called “Platonic” that can be seen on Apple TV Plus was created by Francesca Delbanco and Nicholas Stoller. Sylvia and Will, two former best friends who rejoin some years later, are at the centre of the story. Their lives and the lives of those close to them are bound to be affected when they start spending time together once more. The release date of Platonic Season 2 may occur in 2025.

Approximately five months after the first season ended, in December 2023, Platonic received a second season renewal. Co-creators of the series Francesca Delbanco and Nicholas Stoller released a statement saying, “We’re ecstatic about the chance to collaborate with Seth, Rose, and the entire team at Apple TV+ and Sony on more stories.” Spoiler alert for season two: Will and Sylvia won’t reconcile this time either.

The head of programming for Apple TV Plus, Matt Cherniss, commended Platonic for its humour and relatability. “With their captivating performances, Rose and Seth have brought to life the hilarious, wildly fun, and relatable friendship that has captured the hearts of global audiences ever since the first episodes of Platonic debuted on Apple TV+,” he added. “We’re excited for fans to witness these characters engage in even more hilarious mayhem in season two, courtesy of our friends at Sony and the creative minds of Francesca and Nick.”

Production for the first season began in May 2022. If the development trajectory for season 2 is consistent, it might release in 2025, if Platonic restarts production in the middle of 2024.
