Stellar Blade Release Date, Where To Watch, and more

Korean company Shift Up's action-adventure hack-and-slash game, Stellar Blade, was announced at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, having been rumored since 2020 and never confirmed.

Stellar Blade Release: Stellar Blade is an action-adventure hack-and-slash game developed by Korean company Shift Up, which made its debut at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase. Up until now, it has only been conjectured about since 2020 and never verified.

The game was originally going to be called Project Eve, but in 2022 it was changed to Stellar Blade. With a visual reminiscent of Code Vein or another Souls game, this game plays a lot like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.

That being said, the action seems significantly more frenzied than the laborious duels found in the Souls series. The release of Stellar Blade is rapidly approaching, but in the meantime, here’s a thorough rundown of all we currently know.

Stellar Blade Release Date

Officially, Stellar Blade will debut on Friday, April 26, 2024. During their latest State of Play address, Sony managed to secure this date. Even though the game was announced years ago, a 2023 release window was not assured, and instead, a particular release date wasn’t confirmed until early 2024.

Where Will Stellar Blade Be Available?

It is currently known that the PS5 will be the exclusive platform for this game. However, it wasn’t always the case. The original announcement also referenced PC and Xbox.

The developers of Stellar Blade have said that the game would “take full advantage” of the PS5 DualSense controllers’ haptic feedback and visual capabilities.

Play and Design

Although Eve, the protagonist, and the gameplay bore a striking resemblance to Capcom’s Bayonetta series, the graphic design was entirely different. Stellar Blade aims for a more subtle, yet lifelike, anime aesthetic. Even though Bayonetta is well-known for her outlandish fashion, this one is entirely unrecognisable.

At many times in the trailer, Stellar Blade seems to reference the Souls series—or at least the games it inspired—such as From Software’s Code Vein and Bloodborne. The timing of assaults seems to matter in this game, which goes beyond just a mindless hack-and-slasher.
