Luke Kang, the director of Disney in Asia Pacific, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and emphasized the growing global popularity of anime.

He stated that expanding Disney’s anime library is a top priority, particularly for Japanese audiences.

Nippon TV will also carry “The Fable” in Japan, but Disney+ will serve as the sole worldwide streaming platform.

From 2014 to 2019, Katsuhisa Minami’s “The Fable” appeared in Japan’s Weekly Young Magazine and sold millions of copies.

Tezuka Productions, under the supervision of industry veteran Rysuke Takahashi, produces the anime adaptation.

The plot revolves around “Fable,” a legendary hitman renowned for his lethal prowess in the criminal underworld.

The plot thickens when his boss orders him to take a vacation from his assassin lifestyle and integrate into Osaka society following a year of numerous successes.

This plot twist propels Fable into an entirely new realm, replete with obstacles unrelated to his typical line of work.

Voice Cast and Production Staff

“The Fable” features a notable voice cast, which includes Miyuki Sawashiro, Kana Hanazawa, and Kazuyuki Okitsu in the primary roles, among others.

The Yuya Takashima and Mayumi Morita-written series promises a blend of suspenseful stories and exhilarating action.
